This class helps the child trust the parent in the water. The instructor teaches the child to respect the water and enjoy the experience with the parent through drills, games, and songs. The child will be going under the water within the first few weeks. All equipment will be provided for the class. You will need to make sure you and your child has a swimsuit, towels, and that your infant wears a swim diaper during the class.

Join us for some fun in the pool for The Floating Pumpkin Patch!!! Pick out a pumpkin while swimming and then decorate it! All children 3 - 5 years MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water with a suit on.   Join us for a splashing good time in the pool! Space is limited so you will need to pre-register for this event.

Speed & Agility is a four-week program designed to help you maximize your athletic ability. Through a set of drills and exercises (ladders, cones, running, jumping), we look to help you reach your potential as you get ready for your upcoming season. This course is tailored to off-season athletes but is open to all levels of participation. This program is taught by a PTCC personal trainer.

Strength & Conditioning is a program design for tweens and teens to work on their overall strength technique and performance. This program is led by a member of our fitness team who specializes in training young athletes.

This class is great for the youngster who wants to learn a little bit about a lot of different sports. Besides learning the basics of soccer and basketball, we may also learn about sports like hockey, T-Ball, track & field and football. Parents are encouraged to participate and play along with their child. (No class on 11/28)

We do drama differently! Enjoy an exciting mix of theatre games, improvisation, scripted work, and more in a safe and inclusive environment. Boost self-expression, social skills, and creativity with us! Drama develops kids! Our final class will feature parent-participation activities and a fun skit by the actors!

Perfect for budding scientists and slime enthusiasts alike, this class introduces the basics of chemical reactions, polymers, and properties of materials—all in the name of slime! By the end of the program, kids will have a new appreciation for science and a collection of unique slimes to show off. This class is a fantastic, hands-on way to learn scientific concepts while having a blast!

Join us for a spooktacular Kids' Kraft workshop where young imaginations come alive! Children will unleash their creativity and craft festive Halloween masterpieces under the guidance of experienced instructors, fostering a fun and enriching seasonal experience.

Let your child’s imagination run wild in this 4-week, one-hour art class where creativity meets variety! Designed for ages 6–12. Students will explore a rich mix of art styles and techniques, including painting, drawing, 3D work, and mixed media. All in a hands-on, fun environment. Each week will introduce a new medium: watercolors, pastels, textured materials, and more. Students will learn basic art concepts like color, form, line, texture, and shape as they create both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces. No experience needed, just bring enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment! Join us to paint, draw, build, and craft. Discover what inspires you!

Children will enjoy learning the fundamentals of gymnastics including forward rolls, backward rolls, etc. through simple techniques and games. Children will develop their strength, coordination, and self confidence. Ages 3-4.

Prairie Township Community Center is happy to announce that we will be hosting a special “Kpop Demon Hunters” event on 12/3/25 from 5:30-6:30pm! Kpop dance teacher, Po Chu from Kpop Dance Columbus, will be leading a dance workshop for kids age 5-11. This mini dance class is inspired by characters from the movie and will feature songs from the KDH Soundtrack, costumes, and decorations for a big performance and Kpop dance party celebration at the end of the program. Miss Po has been teaching Kpop dance to kids for almost 4 years and has previously taught at Prairie Township. Register today!

PTCC’s Flag Football clinic gives young athletes an exciting introduction to the fundamentals of football through age appropriate games and drills. Players will develop skills such as running the ball, passing, catching, throwing, and learning basic game concepts. Each session features both instructional activities and a modified game play. Ages 6-8, 9-12.

Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. An indoor, fast paced, higher scoring variant of traditional soccer, futsal provides a great opportunity for players to have fun and be active! The clinic will focus on improving basic soccer skills, such as ball movement and control, as well as a variety of other futsal specific skills. Weekly classes combine skill-building instruction with non-competitive futsal games to reinforce learning through play.

School’s off today, so send the kids to have some writing fun with children’s author Andra Gillum. We’ll write some fun Halloween-themed stories and play some fun spooky (or not so spooky) word games. Don’t be afraid! This class is perfect for any creative kiddo who likes to write, draw, and make new friends!

Bio: Andra Gillum is the author of four children’s books Doggy Drama, Puppy Drama, Old Doggy Drama and Lost Doggy Drama. She teaches writing at the Thurber House, and elementary schools across the region. Andra’s mission is to make reading and writing fun so kids will stick with it!
