This class helps the child trust the parent in the water. The instructor teaches the child to respect the water and enjoy the experience with the parent through drills, games, and songs. The child will be going under the water within the first few weeks. All equipment will be provided for the class. You will need to make sure you and your child has a swimsuit, towels, and that your infant wears a swim diaper during the class.

They also learn to swim a short distance after jumping into the water, and be comfortable lying on their back with little support. Make sure to bring swimsuits, towels, and a swim diaper for your child...All other equipment will be provided.

Parent and Child 3 - 3211603

Parents start the session with their child in the water and then move out of the water slowly, away from their child until the instructor is teaching the children without the parents being present in the water. Make sure you have swimsuits, towels, and a swim diaper for your child.

 While in shallow water, glide on front for at least 2 body lengths, then roll to back and
float on back for 3 seconds, then recover to a vertical position.

Speed and Agility - 340503

Agility & Speed Camp is a four-week program designed to help you maximize your athletic ability. Through a set of drills and exercises (ladders, cones, running, jumping), we look to help you reach your potential as you get ready for your upcoming season. This course is tailored to off-season athletes but is open to all levels of participation. This program is taught by a PTCC personal trainer.

Strength & Conditioning is a program designed for tweens and teens to be active and involved while working on their overall strength technique and performance. Your child will learn proper techniques of resistance training and workout in a fun, comfortable and safe environment. This camp is taught by a PTCC personal trainer.

Kinderdance for young children, ages 3-5, is a developmental dance, motor skill, music, and fitness program, blended with academics, specifically designed for children ages 3-5. Parents who want to give their child the opportunity to dance will love how Kinderdance teaches the basics of Ballet, Tap and Creative Movement while blending educational concepts, designed to teach to the total child.

Each month the PTCC will have a different story teller to read a book, and do a short, fun craft for children in the community! Readers may come from Battelle Darby Metro Park, Southwest Public Libraries, the Prairie Township Fire Department, and more!

Sporties for Shorties - 3621512

This class is great for the youngster who wants to learn a little bit about a lot of different sports. Besides learning the basics of soccer and basketball, we may also learn about sports like hockey, T-Ball, track & field and football. Parents are encouraged to participate and play along with their child.

Summer Day Camp - 3630100

Required Medical Questionnaire is required and needs to be completed prior to camp registration. This is free of charge and can be completed at anytime.

We are looking forward to another year of Summer Day Camp at the Prairie Township Community Center! Camp will run from 8am-6pm for 10 weeks, and is open for campers aged 6-12! Campers will play sports, do art projects, and science experiments, swim, make new friends, go on field trips, and have a blast this summer! Registration for PTCC's summer day camp will be per week. CAMP SLOTS ARE LIMITED TO 75 CAMPERS PER WEEK. All camp participants are eligible to enroll in our payment plan. If you choose to enroll, an initial processing fee of $30R | $60NR will be required at the time of registration. All further payments will be drawn two weeks before your child attends camp. (Payment schedule available at www.prairietownship.org/410/Day-Camps ). Also, a discount will be given for additional children from the same family attending day camp. Each additional child will be able to enroll in camp at a 25% discount. ($112R | $135NR)

Would your child know what to do if they have forgotten their house key or the passcode for the keypad? What if they are home alone and they are choking? Our Kidz Home Alone class will give you and your child peace of mind when home alone. As creators of this class, we thought of every home alone scenario possible, and provide solutions for all of those ‘what-if’s”. This course is designed to teach your child about being home alone safely. An informative parent guide is included in the student manual and provides an avenue for discussion between parent and child. This engaging and interactive class is fun and includes guest speakers from the local Police and Fire Departments (when available). Ages 9-12.

This camp is all about training to be your favorite superhero! To be a superhero means having strength, agility, balance, and speed. We focus on learning special superhero training skills through fun games and activities such as “jumping over hot lava,” “dodging fireballs,” “lightsaber training,” “scooter flying,” “ghostbuster tag,” and so many more! Being a superhero also means having compassion for society, a kind heart, and a willingness to do good and help others. These are qualities we discuss and talk about with our campers.
