New to pickleball? Join us for Pickleball 101, a beginner friendly class designed to teach you the fundamentals before you hit the court. Participants will learn basic rules, scoring, court positioning, and essential skills through guided instruction and light practice. This 30 minute session takes place just before our open gym pickleball times, making it the perfect warm up for newcomers looking to build confidence and have fun!

Interested in learning Spanish for the workplace or everyday life? Come join this six week course that will be catered to your interests and needs. We will learn conversational Spanish for social life and in the workplace. Learning the skills of speaking a new language is a wonderful tool to have. All materials are provided and all abilities are welcome. Ages 18+.

The Yams & Slams Pickleball Tournament is a non-sanctioned tournament at Prairie Township Community Center. This will be a doubles-only tournament for skill players under 4.0 (you will be asked to put your skill level down upon registration). The format will be a round robin (games to 11), into a single-elimination doubles tournament (games to 11). Games will be self-officiated with a mediator for disputes. The championship match will be best-of-three, all played to 11. Registration is per pair. Please list your partner upon registration. If you do not have a partner and need to be placed with someone, please indicate that. Prizes include: grips, balls, gift cards, and more. A portion of registration fees will go towards purchasing new pickleball nets and equipment for the Community Center.

She discusses finding the right idea and provides useful tips on how to craft your story. Andra also shares her experiences about manuscripts, editors, and finding the right illustrator and publisher. Whether you have dreams or a full story ready to go, this class is informative, helpful and fun.

Bio: Andra Gillum is the author of four children's books Doggy Drama, Puppy Drama, Old Doggy Drama and Lost Doggy Drama. She teaches writing at the Thurber House, and elementary schools across the region. Andra's mission is to make reading and writing fun so kids will stick with it!
