The Passport to Fishing program provides skills, techniques and information that allows any beginning angler to start fishing in their own community. The program consists of four stations that are 15 to 20 minutes in length. The stations include: casting, fishing knots and rigging, fish habitat and handling, and local information. The program focuses on hands-on participation and a strong conservation message. Participants will then apply what they have learned by fishing in the Galloway Sports Complex Ponds. First time participants will receive a rod and reel. Ages 6-15.

This program is FREE and is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife and the U.S. Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration Fund. Instructors are certified by the Division of Wildlife.

The educational component of the program will take place on Friday, June 28th from 6-7 PM at the Community Center. You must attend this class in order to receive your rod and reel the next day!

The actual fishing component will take place on Saturday, June 29th, starting at 8 AM, where your child will receive their rod and reel. Fishing line, bait, hooks, etc. are the responsibility of the participant. We will meet at 1503 Galloway Road.

Children must be accompanied by an adult; adult participation is encouraged.

This is a FREE program! Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
